Auvers-sur-Oise, an artists’ village 30 kilometres north of Paris is renowned as the place where Vincent van Gogh spent the last 70 days of his life. He painted nearly 80 works in this short period, some of which are his most famous, including Wheat Field with Crows, Portrait of Dr. Gachet and The Church at Auvers. You can visit the bedroom in the Auberge Ravoux where Van Gogh lived and where he died on 29 July 1890, two days after shooting himself in the chest.
