Japanese In 1873-1874, a 20-year-old Vincent van Gogh lived at 87 Hackford Road in Stockwell, London. During his long walks through the city and visits to cultural landmarks and galleries, Van Gogh became deeply inspired by British culture, artists, and writers.
Inspiration
The friends Ruben, Jiro and Frank have spent the past few months travelling in Vincent van Gogh’s footsteps. They visited landscapes in Brabant and Belgian mines, they ventured through unspoilt nature to Vincent’s final resting place in Northern France, and they continued their journey to the blistering heat of Arles and Saint-Rémy. With their own eyes, they beheld where Vincent grew up and where he created his first works. The three friends visited the place where Vincent endured his testing times and paused for reflection where he ultimately came to rest.

About 25 organizations and museums in the Netherlands, Belgium and France have joined forces under the name Van Gogh Europe.
