In the period 1875-1882 the Van Gogh family lived in the rectory in Etten. Vincent van Gogh regularly visited them for a few days during this period. In 1881 he went back to his parents’ home in the rectory behind the church for a longer period. The Van Gogh Church, the former Dutch Reform Church has an animated Van Gogh timeline, and also a model of the old rectory in which Van Gogh’s first drawing studio can be seen.
